Xherdan Shaqiri has became the latest Liverpool player to register a positive test for COVID-19, the Swiss FA have announced.

Although the club are yet to confirm the news, the winger’s national association have publicized his positive test.

That means Shaqiri is the third player from the Premier League champions to test positive in the last week.

Liverpool announced seven days ago that Thiago had contracted coronavirus and Sadio Mané then followed suit.

Shaqiri has played just once for Liverpool this season, in the EFL Cup, and did not move on deadline day despite rumours linking him with an Anfield exit.
