Former AFC Leopards defender Yusuf Maingi bid farewell to Ingwe in a stylistic manner on Thursday with an emotional message.

Through his official Facebook page, Maingi has thanked the entire Leopards fraternity for a time well spent together and for the love and respect accorded to him during his stint at the den.

The defender left Ingwe on 14 July to join Slovakian side FK Pohronie thump after two years at Ingwe.

He made his debut for his new side in their 9-0 victory to Selce in a Cup match on August 14.

The former leopards defender was introduced into the match in the second half as his first-ever European club ran riot away from home.

Mainge was picked by Leopards from High School and was included in the first team albeit lacking KPL experience.

“Let me start by thanking the Almighty God for the far He has brought me and the wonderful things He has done to me.

That said, may I take this opportunity to thank AFC Leopards for the belief they had in me. With no KPL experience they picked me straight from school and drafted me straight to the first team. I want to thank my teammates there, the coaches I worked with and the club’s management for all their support. Without them I couldnt be here and I want to take this opportunity to wish them nothing but the best this season.

I want to thank my handlers too for the support they accorded me and for making this move happen. There have been challenges but I had people who ensured everything were in place; Ill forever be indebted to them.

I want to thank the fans too who have been supportive all through this journey. Youve been with me through the ups and downs. You keep me going.

As I begin my journey with FK Pohronie, I pray for God’s guidance and strength and hope that Ill be a good ambassador of Kenya over these areas”
