A controversial painting of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola kissing AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho was used at the famous Primavera sound festival.

There is no doubt that Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho are football’s most revered managers and have formed part of an intense rivalry over the years. The two celebrated tacticians have been on opposite end of the dugouts for over a decade.

They have clashed in L a Liga when Guardiola was Barcelona’s head coach and Mourinho was in charge of Real Madrid. They have also coached the Manchester clubs and met severally in the UEFA Champions League, the most remembered one in the semi-final of 2010 when Mourinho’s Inter Milan beat Barcelona.

It is therefore right to assume that there is no love lost between the two managers. They may have absolute respect for each other, but no affection.

The mural has generated a sharp debate with many fans alluding that the two managers who have been rivals almost all their careers would disagree with such a painting.

The Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona is a very popular musical concert among its fans and it was making a return for the first time since 2019.

Primavera Sound Festival this year’s edition treated fans to a big canvass of the Mourinho and Guardiola sharing what seemed to be a passionate kiss.

The Primavera Sound Festival is one of the biggest musical concerts in the world. Making a return for the first time since the advent of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, Dua Lipa and Lorde among others headlined the show that is usually split across two weekends.

The American post explains that the mural is a tribute to the famous mural of the former leader of the Soviet Union Leonid Brezhnev kissing Erich Honecker the President of Germany. Guardiola and Mourinho’s mural had the following caption below it.
