The National Super League (NSL) officially kicked off on Sunday with various matches played across different venues in the country.

A rain of goals was witnessed across the different matches with the day’s highlight being Nairobi Stima’s emphatic 8-0 win over newbies Northern Wanderers in a match played at Camp Toyoyo in Nairobi.

Nairobi City Stars saw off Kisii based Shabana FC 2-0 at Hope Centre in Nairobi. Ibrahim Sane scored Stars’ first goal in the 8th Minute before Jimmy Bageya gave the Nairobi based side their second.

In Another Match last season’s KPL Side Vihiga United began life in the NSL with a resounding 3-1 win over Migori Youth in a match played at the Mumias Complex.

Cash-strapped Mount Kenya United started life in the NSL on a wrong foot after going down 3-0 to Bidco United. Mt. Kenya United’s woes seem far from over with the club having lost a number of top players who moved in search of financial stability.

Taxmen Uhuru FC, now under new coach James Omondi, who replaced Ken Kenyatta on interim basis beat St.Joseph’s Youth by a Solitary Goal.

Ushuru’s lone goal was scored by Jackton Ojala.

Salim Abdalla’s Side Talanta FC beat Vihiga Bullets 3-1 in a match played at Camp Toyoyo.
