Paris Saint-Germain have pulled of the what is arguably the most expensive free transfer in history by signing Leo Messi. The Parisians have acted fast after an impasse between Leo and Barca. Messi has signed a two-year deal until 2023 with the option of a further year. The Argentine will join PSG on a €25m signing on fee and at least €35m net per season with add-ons included.

Leo Messi said,“I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter in my career in Paris. The club and his vision are a perfect match for my ambitions. I’m determined to build something great for the club and the fans. I can’t wait to step onto the pitch at the Parc des Princes”.

The Parc des Princes has always been a place where luxury meets necessity. An offense of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe will make even the strongest weak at the knees. The Parisians whose uncompromising target has been the perpetual pursuit of UEFA’s top prize will hope that Messi is the key to unlock Europe.

PSG have had a busy summer, with Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Ramos, Gini Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma all arriving at the French capital.
