Kenya Premier League side Wazito FC have on Monday confirmed that Head Coach Fred Ambani and Technical Director Stanley Okumbi have all left the Club.
According to Wazito, the duo have left the club by Mutual consent.
“We can confirm that Head Coach Fred Ambani and Technical Director Stanley Okumbi have left the club by mutual consent,” Read a Statement on Wazito’s Official Website.
Wazito CEO Dennis Gicheru thanked the duo for their services while at the Club.
“I would like to thank coach Ambani and coach Okumbi for their great service to the club. They did a tremendous job during their time here and we wish them all the best,”he said.
Contrary to previous reports, Assistant Coach Hamisi Mohammed will not be leaving Wazito and as such, he will take charge of the team on a temporary basis.
Under Ambani and Okumbi, Wazito were just able to record 1 win in their first 6 KPL games. The team drew 3 and lost 2 to leave it 13th on the KPL log.
There have also been reports of bad blood between Ambani and Okumbi with the two said to have had a fight on Friday, just hours to Wazito’s game against Kakamega Homeboyz.
Wazito lost 2-4 and it is that result that proved to be the last straw with club President Ricardo Badoer assuring fans of changes. Well, there are the changes.
The team is now in the market for a new Head Coach as it aims at turning it’s fortunes around in the Kenya Premier League.
