Kenya Premier League newbies Wazito have stepped up their preparations ahead of the new season as the team aims to end Gor Mahia’s Local dominance.

Wazito have their eyes set on lifting the Kenya Premier League title and to achieve that, the team has been busy in the transfer market. The Badoer Investments owned side have already roped in a total of 11 players while some have also been released.

Among those likely to leave Wazito is Musa Masika, younger brother to Ayub Timbe. The Kenyan International joined Wazito in March from NSL Side Kangemi All Stars but has now been linked with a move to Belgium.

With his imminent departure, Wazito’s technical director Stanley Okumbi has revealed that should Masika leave, they will cope well and find a suitable replacement.

“Musa was not really sharp and fit when he initially joined the team but we worked on it and he improved and gelled well. I’m not sure if he has left officially but if he does I don’t think it will be a big loss as the league is yet to start. We still have a chance to make another good player to fit into that position because our job is to mould players,” Said Okumbi as quoted by Nation Sports.

Sunday saw Wazito defeat National Super League Side Murang’a Seal 2-0 in a Pre-Season friendly courtesy of goals from new signings Derrick Otanga and Elvis Rupia.

The team is currently in Oloitotok for a team building exercise ahead of the new season of the Kenya Premier League. Wazito begin their KPL campaign against Millers Nzoia Sugar on 31st August.
