Veteran Midfielder Dennis Odhiambo Omino has parted ways with KPL Side Sofapaka FC.
Omino becomes the latest in a growing list of players to leave Batoto Ba Mungu. He has followed in the footsteps of Umaru Kasumba who joined Zesco United, Stephen Waruru who joined KCB and Striker John Avire who recently signed for Egyptian Premier League Newcomers Tanta SC.
According to the Star, Odhiambo confirmed partying ways with Sofapaka on Monday and is currently in search of a new club.
The former Thika United midfielder has terminated his contract with Sofapaka on Mutual consent after going for months without pay at the Elly Kalekwa owned side.
He has already received a number of offers and is taking his time to review each one of them before he finally makes a decision.
Odhiambo has previously been linked to Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia, links he has refused to confirm or refute.
“I received my release letter last Sunday after parting ways with Sofapaka on mutual consent and at the moment I am a free agent. A number of clubs had shown interests in my services and I hope to find a new home before the new season,” Said Odhiambo.
The former University of Pretoria Man was part of the Harambee Stars squad that took part in the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where he played two matches.
He later captained the National team, Harambee Stars to a two legged CHAN qualifier tie against Tanzania, a tie they lost on Penalties at the Kasarani Stadium.
Meanwhile, Sofapaka is also on the verge of losing the Burundian duo of Justin Ndikumana and Mousa Omar who are all understood to be pushing to have their release letters.
