Gor Mahia Captain Harun Shakava’s alleged move to the Zambian Super League to join Nkana FC has taken a fresh twist after the club denied having had any contact with the former Kakamega Homeboyz man.

On Wednesday, various sections of the media reported that Shakava was set to pen a two-year deal with Nkana after Gor Mahia decided to give him a release letter way before his contract completely ran out.

It was reported that Shakava had even flown to Zambia to complete his move.

Nkana have now issued a statement on the Shakava transfer with the Club’s CEO Charles Chakatazya confirming that the 26 year old has not joined the Kitwe based outfit.

“I don’t know a player by that name (Haron Shakava). I’m hearing this for the first time from you. That’s news for me.

“We have not talked to any Kenyan club over a possible transfer of a player from there,” said Chakatazya as quoted by Standard Sports.

Apart from Nkana FC, Shakava has also been linked with a move to Zanaco FC, also of the Zambian Super League and Kenya Premier League Newbies Wazito FC.

Nkana is also the home of Kenyan duo of Musa Mohammed and Duncan Otieno.

Gor Mahia have already brought in a replacement for Shakava with the club completing the signing of Maurice ‘Fadha’ Ojwang from Powermen Western Stima on Tuesday.

He is expected to partner Joash Onyango at heart of Gor Mahia defence.

Shakava joined Gor Mahia in 2014 from KPL rivals Kakamega Homeboyz and became outstanding with his performances that even saw him handed the captain’s armband.
