Tanzanian giants Simba SC have confirmed the signing of former Gor Mahia defender and Kenya international Joash Onyango.
Onyango has signed a two year deal with ‘Wekundu Wa Masimbazi’ and links up with Ex-Gor Mahia players Meddie Kagere and Francis Kahata.
Having won the domestic league this season, Simba SC has it’s sights set on doing better in the CAF champions league hence the need to boost its already good squad with better and experienced players like Joash.
“We have set big goals this season to get far in the African Champions League and home competitions so the club must also sign defenders and experienced players in big matches. Kenyan international defender Joash Onyango has landed in Msimbazi” Said Simba on it’s social media pages as it confirmed the signing of Joash.
Joash who was until his departure Kogallo’s assistant captain will hope to have a great time in Tanzania like Kagere and Kahata. The duo helped Simba win the Vodacom Premier League as well as the Azam Federation Cup.
Joash joined Gor Mahia back in 2017 from Western Stima and went on to become an integral member of the first team.
Apart from winning KPL titles with Gor, he also won individual awards like the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the end of the 2018/19 season.
