Kenyan international Joash Onyango is expected to make a quick recovery after coming off injured over the weekend during Simba’s Community Shield match against Yanga at the Mkapa Stadium.

Onyango was replaced in the 31st minute by Kenneth Juma after he suffered a head injury following a collision with teammate Chris Mugalu and was seen bleeding on the face.

A number of Simba fans were worried about the state of Onyango but recent reports from the club’s medical camp show that the former Gor Mahia man is in a better state.

The club’s doctor Yassin Gembe, said that Onyango did not suffer any serious injuries on the face and was doing well after receiving treatment.

Onyango missed Simba’s 0-0 draw with Biashara United on Tuesday but has received a call-up to National team Harambee Stars after missing out during the last qualifier matches against Uganda and Rwanda.

Apart from Onyango, midfielder Sadio Kanoute who suffered a shoulder injury during the Yanga match is also progressing well with recovery.
