Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia played to a 2-2 draw with Tanzanian based side Alliance FC in a friendly match played at Camp Toyoyo.
Alliance FC is currently 10th in the Tanzania Premier League table. They won their Last game against Singida United by a solitary goal.
The visitors capitalised on a defensive mishap to take the lead in the 8th Minute but Gor Mahia responded almost immedaitely in the 14th Minute through Kennedy Agogo Otieno.
Gor could however not take the lead heading into the break as Alliance scored a second goal in the 42′ Minute after another defensive blunder from the Steven Polack led side.
The Match went into the break with Alliance in command of the proceedings. The second half provided Gor Mahia with an opportunity to equalize from the spot after an Alliance player handled the ball in the box. The awarded Penalty yielded nothing as Ivorian Striker Gislain Yikpe missed from the spot.
Gor were however able to grab the equalizer in the 84th Minute courtesy of a powerful header from Charles Momanyi.
Today’s Friendly served as a perfect platform for Gor Mahia to show what they got as the team prepares to return to KPL action after the international break and also take part in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Gor Mahia have been drawn against DR Congo’s most successful club DC Motema Pembe.
Kogallo are currently top of the KPL Standings with 12 Points after winning all it’s first 4 Matches. The team still has a match at hand with other teams except Chemelil Sugar FC having played 5 Matches.
Gor will next take on Kariobangi Sharks in the KPL.
