Former Kibra Parliamentary aspirant Eliud Owalo has donated 40 tracksuits to Gor Mahia football team ahead of the CAF Champions League (CL) against APR.

The politician, who paid the team a courtesy call at the Nyayo National Stadium said the tracksuits will come in handy in Saturday’s match.

“This morning, I’ve paid a courtesy call on Gor Mahia FC and donated 40 tracksuits to the team. I believe the same will prove handy tomorrow as Gor takes on APR of Rwanda in a return-leg CAF preliminary round match,” Owallo said.

The donation comes just a week after Gor embarrassingly traveled to Rwanda in Harambee Stars tracksuits. Reports indicate that the club was forced to ‘beg’ FKF President Nick Mwendwa for the national team attire.

Owallo has recently been working with Deputy President William Ruto to popularize the Hustler Narrative. We reported here last week that Ruto had offered to help Gor travel to Rwanda but the club hierarchy declined the help.

Is Owalo trying to open inroads for Ruto into Gor Mahia affairs?

It is worth noting that only club Treasurer Dolphina Odhiambo was present to receive Owalo at Nyayo. Did he inform Ambrose Rachier of his planned visit?
