The tournament will act as more of curtain-raiser to Europe’s biggest competition as it will start before the Champions League. UEFA intends to introduce the new tournament in 2024.

It is also worth noting that in the same year, UEFA plans to roll out the new format of the Champions League that will scrap the four-team group stages.

The new tournament will have four teams with the winner of the previous Champions League competing in it as per Marca.

The report further states that the European Super Cup will remain but the defending Champions League winner won’t participate in it. The winner of the European League and the winner of the Conference League will be the competitors in the Super Cup.
