Union Omaha’s Greg Hurst netted hat-trick as Kenyan star Tobias featured in a 4-2 victory over New England Revolution II

It was 63 minutes of action for the former Gor Mahia FC midfielder Tobias Otieno in the United States with League One side Union Omaha as his team comfortably hammered New England Revolution II 4-2 on Sunday morning to go four points clear top of the table.

Tobias who was named in the starting line up of the matchday squad that went on produced a stunning game performance, the 22-year-old managed the whole 63 minutes before being substituted for Alihodzic.

The reigning side Omaha came into the game on the back of consecutive and constantly in good fine form, while New England came into the game on two consecutive defeats. After a 21st minutes goalless, the game suddenly changed it’s tempo with two quick goals from both sides.

It was Omaha who netted first with 24-year-old Greg Hurst giving the home team the lead in the 21st minutes with a spectacular fininsh round up. Not long enough before struggling New England, who sat bottom three levelled up matters through Conor Presley before the break.

In the added minutes of the first half, with the game still tight and set to levelled tio the half time, Hurst netted brace to get second for the hosts after goalkeeper’s error failing to grab the ball, that’s Omaha restored the lead.

The playmaker picked up the tempo from where he left as he sealed his professional hat-trick in the first two opening minutes of the second half, brilliant team link-up in the box before clinching the ball bottom left corner to give Omaha third goal lead.

Michael Tsicoulias restored the visitors false hopes by netting up second for the New England in the 63rd minute after tiptap link-up by Justin Rennicks. But it didn’t took much before Otieno’s substitute Alihodzic set up Devin Boyce for the fourth and the game rumping shot in the 77th minute,  Union Omaha emerging 4-2 winners as Hurst registered his first ever hat-trick in the club’s history and four goals ever scored by the home team in the open play in a match.

The win sail Omaha on the top of the table, 17 points, four off second placed Greenville who have three games less to play.
