Kenyan forward Vincent Oburu has been handed a three-year contract extension deal by Zambian Premier League giants ZESCO United.

Oburu, former Wazito player had been handed a six months loan deal last year as they wanted to intervene his abilities before handing him a bumper permanent contract.

ZESCO United official statement read: “ZESCO United Football Club is delighted to announce that Kenyan International, Vincent Oburu has signed a three-year contract. Oburu, 24, has extended his stay at ZESCO United after initially signing a short-term contract with the Zambian giants.

“The versatile Kenyan International striker became a darling of the ZESCO United faithful, scoring his first goal for the club in an explosive encounter against Nkana.”

The 24-year-old however, suffered an injury setback before season end but ZESCO chiefs were determine to hand him a deal.

“We are very happy as a technical bench because the period that we gave Oburu to prove himself, he did wonders. We only hope that what he showed us is what he will give us in the upcoming season and in CAF competition,” Numba Mumamba ZESCO United head coach.
