Chelsea missed the chance to go above Liverpool and cut Manchester City’s gap to 10 points after the European champions were held again to a 1-1 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night.

Brighton seemed fearless and stubborn in the opening and closing minutes trying to create chances against the Blues who looked settled at the back.

Brighton went close to taking the lead through former Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck but he gifted Chelsea stopper Kepa the ball.

Few minutes later, the Blues took the lead through Hakim Ziyech with a brilliant strike as he caught Brighton stopper Roberto Sanchez with a flying superb ball near the far post.

Brighton hit back the tempo as Mac Allister thrashed one for Kepa and nearly caught Chelsea backline , with a left-footed power shot but the Spaniard cleared it for a corner.

Graham Potter’s side levelled matters through a resultant corner, Adam Webster powered a thunderous header after brilliant drilled ball hooked up the midfielder’s head to fire home past Kepa.

The Blues have now dropped more points, just one win in their last seven Premier League outings and they sit third with 44 points.
