Hours after Harambee Stars Head Coach Francis Kimanzi unveiled his squad for the Mozambique friendly match, Football Kenya Federation have come out to clear the air on the reasons as to why influential forward Ayub Timbe did not make it to Kimanzi’s list.
According to FKF, Ayub Timbe’s club commitments in China have made it impossible for him to be available for selection.
The Club Beijing Renhe forward will miss the Mozambique clash following a request from his club that he be left out as the chinese based side prepares for an important League match.
“Influential forward Ayub Timbe will be missing in action when we play Mozambique in an international friendly match on October 13, 2019. His club Beijing Renhe (China), requested for his omission from the team as they will be having an important league assignment,” Read a statement posted on the official Harambee Stars Twitter Account.
Ayub Timbe has been one of the standout performers for the National Team in recent months. He stood out as Kenya held East African giants Uganda Cranes 1-1 in another International Friendly match played at the Kasarani Stadium.
Apart from Ayub Timbe, Harambee Stars will also bee without veteran goalkeeper Patrick Matasi and Midfielder Eric Johana.
